Santiago Velez

I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Santiago Velez and I’m very excited about joining your community here.I have been a CrossFitter since 2013 and I quickly grew to love it. So much that I made the decision to become a coach and take my level one a year later.I have been coaching for the last 5 years and I really enjoy it.Being a CrossFit coach is not my only job, I also teach a number of mixed Martial Arts at Shuhari. As you can see I love being active and sharing my knowledge and I am able to do both with the occupations that I have chosen.I love to lift heavy and I am always working to improve my skills in the gym and I work hard at doing so.My favourite Olympic movement is the snatch and my favourite gymnastic movement is HSPU’s.My favourite benchmark workouts are Karen and Cindy and my least favourite is Grace.

Some things I enjoy when outside the gym, playing soccer, going to the movies. And my caffeinated drink of choice is cold brew with 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla with heavy cream. So if you are ever stopping by Starbucks before class…kidding!!!

I look forward to meeting you all and sharing my enjoyment of CrossFit with you.My aim will be to bring the very best out of each of you when I am coaching, and helping you to improve a little more each time you come to class.I believe showing up is half the battle and giving it your all each day is what will help you make gains as an athlete.I’ll be here to support you in any way I can.I’m excited to start this next chapter with you at The Cabin.See you soon!!!
